Hands On Scooter - Out Now! (Germany)
During their career Scooter established themselves as a constant in the music and cultural landscape. So it's not a surprise that a lot of renowned artists from different genres are not afraid of getting in touch with the tracks by H.P., Rick and Michael. That's how the project "Hands On Scooter" startetd, where a lot of bands and musicians created their own versions of their favourite Scooter hits.
When choosing the contributed artists it was important that a lot of music genres are covered. So we have hip hop, rock, pop and electronic versions - for example by the Bloodhound Gang, Status Quo, Moonbootica or Turntable Rocker.
There will also be a single release with German hip hop star Sido taking care of "Move Your Ass" - and now it is called Sido's Hands On Scooter - "Beweg Deinen Arsch".
Both the single and the album "Hands On Scooter" are now availbable in Germany.

Sheffield Jumpers

"The Question Is What Is The Question" was one of the cornerstones for the success of Jumpstyle. From the very beginning Scooter relied on the help of the Sheffield Jumpers. In the four single videos of the album "Jumping All Over The World" as well as live on stage the guys from the Netherlands showed their phenomenal dance skills and amazed the crowd.
Consequentially the Sheffield Jumpers will release their first single "Jump With Me" on the Scooter label Sheffield Tunes. The track definitely has the power to pep up the Jumpstyle movement. You can purchase "Jump With Me" from August 29th as single cd and download. But you can already watch the video now.

Scooter #1 in UK!
from Scootertechnmo.com:
They did it! Scooter climbed to the top of the UK album charts and displaced Madonna. Please read this comment by Scooter's UK label All Around The World (AATW) regarding this amazing success:
"In one of the biggest weeks in the history of AATW it is our great pleasure to announce that the new Scooter album, Jumping All Over The World has gone into the artist album chart at #1, knocking one of the most successful female artists of all time, Madonna, off the top spot in the process. An unbelievable achievement for HP, Rick, Michael and Jens but one that is richly deserved, a view that I'm sure will be shared by anyone who saw the guys performance on the Clubland Live tour. Scooter goes way beyond the average definition of a dance act and testament to this is their lasting appeal which has seen them release records to 3 generations of dance fans across the world and become the most successful act of all time in their native Germany.
As if that wasn't a big enough result for us Clubland Classix is also still sat at the top of the compilation chart meaning AATW have the #1 Artist & Compilation albums this week, a first for any UK Dance label and one which should hopefully firmly send home the message to the media and beyond that commercial dance music is still well and truly alive and kicking all across the UK.
There will be those that will no doubt move to scoff at Scooters success. There are many in the world of dance music and in the wider music industry who have an unhealthy obsession with worrying about being seen to be cool and trendy. All I would say to those people is that dance music exists on many levels, each quite seperate but ultimately interdependent on the others. Whilst people from either side of the fence may choose to cast scorn on the others tastes, both sides should be grateful for any success as it is a boost for dance music as a whole. Remember that the media in recent years has sought to marginalise all forms of dance music saying that people don't want to buy it, listeners aren't interested in it and its not relevant to todays youth.
If this was so true why do tens of thousands of us flock to Ibiza year on year? Why did the Clubland Live tour manage to sell out venues on a scale that holds equal comparison to Take That, The Killers and the Spice Girls? Why are dance compilation albums of all genres consistently at the top of the compilation chart? How did Cascada manage to sell one million albums in under a year and how has Scooter managed to knock the worlds biggest female artist off the top of the album chart? The sales figures are now there for all to see, if the media still wants to pretend that the UK population has no interest in dance music then I hope their listeners, viewers and advertisers will vote with their feet. Rest assured that regardless of what anyone with delusions of self importance thinks, AATW will continue to push the music and the artists that we and a large section of the public audiences clearly love." |

UK Release - The Question Is What Is The Question

Their last album sold over 200,000 copies in the UK and the forthcoming album will be a double CD with the second disc being an anthology of Scooters greatest hits

Due for release 1 February 2008 |
Scooter - most successful German singles act since the charts were invented!
From Scootertechno.com:
When "The Question Is What Is The Question?" flew into the top ten of the German media control singles charts, it heralded a new record for H.P. Baxxter and co - Scooter’s twentieth top ten hit! With 20 top ten hits under their belt, Scooter are the most successful German act since the charts were introduced.
No other German artist has scored a score of top tens since the charts were created in 1956. Xavier Naidoo and Modern Talking claim the silver and bronze medals with a mere 13 top ten successes. International megastars such as The Bee Gees, Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones, Pet Shop Boys, Robbie Williams and Britney Spears are all behind Scooter in the top ten rankings!
Added together, Scooter have spent in excess of 400 weeks in the charts. That's 8 years. Or three quarters of the band's lifetime (and still counting).
There are not many German bands who can lay claim to having such an impact on the music scene over such a period of time. Scooter are right up there and have lost nothing of their verve and energy in the past decade.
